The event was attended by over 1,500 social workers from across the UK including social workers, team managers, NQSWs, Independent Social Workers, senior practitioners and social work academics.

Commenting on the event, an exhibitor said: ‘Well-organised, friendly and motivational. A real cross-section of attendees from NQSW to experienced care professionals. Loved the possibilities for networking’.
Throughout the day exhibitors provided visitors with opportunities to learn more about their latest employment, training and career development opportunities in social work and social care.
Another exhibitor said: ‘This event has been our most successful in terms of contacts gained. We have spoken to lots of decision makers and it has been our busiest yet.’
Visitors were also able to attend 38 workshops, seminars, films and webinars exploring current trends and topics in social work, as well as global developments in social work.
Event Sponsor, Birmingham Children’s Trust hosted a variety of seminars including a session from Dr Marie Kershaw: ‘Developing a relationship-based, trauma-informed, system-wide practice model'. Other sessions included ‘Prioritisng the child's voice: Direct work in practice’, ‘Managing stress for practitioners across the public sector: Who has responsibility?’, ‘Strategies for interview success’, ‘Strengths-based social work, with adults in a prison setting’ and ‘The Relational Social Work Podcast: Live! with guests Dr Beverley Barnett-Jones, Dr. Simon Howarth, Tim Fisher, Richard Devine & Hannah McCowen’.
Commenting on the seminars, a social worker said: ‘The seminars attended were really useful and informative. Everything was great.’
Discussing the success of the day, a team manager said: ‘It was an excellent day meeting people, provided lots of information I can share with my team. Attending workshops and networking as always was great to meet others from different areas and share insights.’
Another student added: ‘There are a lot of exhibitors ready to present a variety of options which suit students like myself. Great having all the seminars and exhibitors in one place.’
