Seminars will offer sector specific guidance exploring current trends and activities in social work and care – for practitioners working with children, adults, or in mental health.

There will be opportunities to learn more about their latest employment, training and career development opportunities in social work and social care in Birmingham.

Sessions will also focus on wellbeing in social work including: ‘Social work working conditions and wellbeing’ and 'Responding to staff wellbeing: The use of clinical supervision in children’s social work'; as well as Dr Neil Thompson-led sessions on ‘How to Survive in social work’ and ‘Stress and social work: Who has responsibility?’.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to gain career advice from Steve Stuart, VRIC Consulting who will focus on how you can maximise your performance in social work interviews in ‘Bossing it: Standing out in social work interviews’ and ‘Perfect fit: What to look for in a social work employer’.
The Social Work Cinema will also run throughout the day, offering a selection of short films which will explore key topics and stories in the social work profession including What does the New Plan for Immigration mean for child victims of trafficking? (ECPAT UK) and Safeguarding adults: Looking out for each other to prevent abuse (Scie).

COMPASS Jobs Fair, Birmingham will take place before World Social Work Day on 15 March 2022. The theme: ´Co-building a New Eco-Social World: Leaving No One Behind´ coincides with the theme of the people´s summit that will take place on the 29th June to the 2nd July.
